Richmond is 3rd in Newcomer Population

USA: VIRGINIA: A view of the Richmond skyline across the James River.

Research from ABODO, a national organization that helps people who are moving find a new place to live, shows that the average American moves over 11 times in his or her lifetime.  That makes the United States’ population one of the world’s most mobile — especially Millennials.

Of the top 50 most-populated metro areas in the country, Richmond takes third place for largest percentage of new residents coming from elsewhere in the U.S. between 2014 and 2015.  The data specifically shows that Richmond has 8.9% of its population comprising new residents.

This makes our city robust, diverse, and a very popular destination because of  jobs and quality of life.  Several years ago, Richmond was voted the “Best River City in America” by Outside magazine.

People love Richmond for a number of reasons:  culture, history, stable economy, food and craft beer scene, medical facilities, educational opportunities,  architecture, geography-2 hours from the mountains, Washington, and the ocean, and recreational pursuits.

Who wouldn’t love to live in Richmond???!!!!
